Traffic is not usually good especially if you encounter it in the road. However, if you are talking about blog traffic, well that is a very important and somehow overlooked part of blogging. Blog traffic actually talks about the blog’s popularity and statistics which is reflected in different ways. It could pertain to the number of blog visitors, the number of comments, how long do they stay and read your blog, and many others. Regardless of different definitions, blog traffic means one thing: having other people to notice you.
As with the definition, there are a number of ways that a blog could do in order to increase blog traffic. This list entitled 101 Ways to Drive traffic to your blog actually offers a lot of options which you could choose from or implement everything in order to drive traffic in your blog. Personally, I would like to start with the basic ones so here are some of my tips:
Comments, Comments, and Comments
You are not alone in the blogging world and you must make yourself known to other blogs? How do you that? Leaving comments is a big help in promoting your blog and also your reputation as someone who appears to have something interesting to say. One of the things that you need to remember when leaving comments is to respect the author regardless of your comment. It’s fine that you do not agree with the blogger’s ideas but you should at least respect it without making a negative impact. If you do, well news travels fast in blogging and the consequences might be more than what you are expecting.
Networking and Marketing
Driving traffic in your blog is much like promoting and selling a product and in this case, this product is your blog. Networking is pretty much part of the game and the question here is on how you are going to plan your networking plan. Of course, this would include joining forums and network sites that is related to blogging or the topic that you are focusing on in your niche blog. Aside from that, submiting your blog posts to directories and other similar sites is helpful in having an advantage for search engines to pick you up. Be free to use whatever you can to promote your blog and the more you do, the more results you will have.
Quality Blog Posts
Nothing would ever bring back readers of your blog if you do not have a quality blog post. This means that regardless of how well you market your blog in order to have blog traffic, if you do not have an interesting content these readers would not go back at all. Always remember that if you want to attract your readers, give them the reason to be attracted and also the reason to stay and to come back for more.
These are just simple tips coming from one blogger to another. Be sure to be back as there are a lot more to be revealed in the coming blog posts.
