Choosing a blog picture is a hard task and should be done carefully and not carelessly. Think of it as like choosing a cover for your book. The image used in blogging should represent the article or the thought being expressed through the blog post. Having a commercial database of images would be a good way to have pictures on the go. On the other hand, having your own camera to take images would be a great alternative. Just make sure that you have a sort of mark in the photo in order to show that you own the right for that specific blog image.

If you don’t want to buy images or you don’t have a camera with you to take images for your blog, then the next best thing would be to use free images. There are a bunch of websites that cater to that specific need and you just have to sift your way through these sites in order to make sure that these images would be ok to use when you blog.

Here are some things that you need to consider when using images when blogging:

Size - You don’t really want the image to overshadow your blog or the whole page right? So this is the reason why you need to consider the image size when including it in your blog post. Having just a thumbnail size like 200×200 (width or length) would be the average size for blog images.

Image Location - Location is the key in terms of dealing with the images. Some blogger would place their images in their blog in the center and start their blog post there. Other bloggers include their blog images within the post therefore still letting their readers continue on reading without making their images a big distraction. Blog images is I believe a personal choice and the blogger’s perspective.

Attractiveness - This does not necessarily translate to having beautiful models or subjects. This means that images should be pleasing to the eye and should help in catching the interest of readers. Colors and people as subjects are more successful in terms of catching the eye and the interest of the readers.

You might wonder whY I am putting much emphasis on the blog images. The reason for that is because there is really not much emphasis on blogging images but in reality they really do count for the blog’s popularity.
