Celebrity Blogging

by admin on August 22, 2009

These types of blogs are very personality-centric whereby the personality of the blogger IS the blog itself.

People will read the blog because of the blogger and of course the contents of it but the main reason these types of blogs will be popular is because of the bloggers’ writing style.

The Pros:

It’s very easy to get viral traffic, i.e. word of mouth advertising. When you’re a famous blogger (whether for the right or wrong reasons), people will talk about you. Your name and your blog will be discussed and debated all over the Internet.

Of course you’re going to be a celebrity of some sorts, having a following of readers almost like a cult status. Whatever you say is gospel and whatever you do turns to gold. It’s easy to get a bit self-indulgent here and egoistic if you get too carried away (if you don’t mind me saying).

The Cons:

You’re tied down to your blog. No one can replace you and yet still continue to have such a following. Obviously I can’t write like you, and I can’t take over your blogging role.

You’ll need to be creative and have a flair for writing. Otherwise, your blog will JUST BE LIKE ANY OTHER BLOG, which will not get a huge following.

Conclusion:

If you’re someone who enjoys writing, and pretty good at it, then probably this will work for you.

Example of celebrity blogs:

ShoeMoney
