The Problem With Our Education System Is…

We have people like this making decisions and running them…

no-brainer

I kid you not. It’s from my own personal experience.

Just 2 experiences of mine…

Many years ago, when I was in Form 1, my maths teacher was a typical example of one.

I failed my papers not because I didn’t know how to solve those equations (I was using the method taught by my tuition teacher). I was marked all wrong because the way I solved it was not as per what he was teaching.

Now, the purpose of education is to learn, yes LEARN.

NOT COPY, NOT ROT LEARNING.

If some dimwit thinks that in order to learn, his way is the ONLY correct way to do things, and can’t see the bigger picture of education, I say screw you! You’re not fit to be a teacher.

The education system should encourage us to learn and think for ourselves, to be able to articulate our thoughts and argue our case, sadly that’s not the way it is.

You know why? (hint – refer to the above pic)

Another example is because we have people heading the schools who are only interested in taking care of their arse.

A principal of my school once made a major decision that impacted my life and the decision was made on racial grounds rather than on merit.

Now, what else do you expect our school to be churning out?

Need I say more?

The only way things will improve is when teachers are paid better, and politicians stop messing around with it.
